Terms & Privacy

Effective July 10, 2026

The short version

Terms of Service

What Munkie is. Munkie helps parents teach children about earning, saving, spending, and goals by keeping a family ledger of pretend or parent-managed money. The numbers in Munkie are a record you and your child keep together — they are not funds, deposits, or financial products, and Munkie is not a bank, wallet, or payment service.

Your account. You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to create an account, and you’re responsible for what happens under it — including keeping your password and parent passcode to yourself. Child profiles are created and controlled entirely by you.

Acceptable use.Use Munkie for your own family. Don’t try to break it, probe it, or use it to store anything unlawful.

No warranty.Munkie is provided as-is, free of charge, without warranties of any kind. We work hard to keep your family’s ledger safe and available, but we can’t promise uninterrupted service, and we’re not liable for indirect or consequential damages to the fullest extent the law allows.

Changes. If these terms change in a way that matters, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Munkie after a change means you accept it. You can stop using Munkie and ask us to delete your data at any time.

Privacy Policy

What we collect. The minimum the app needs to work: your name, email address, and password (for your account); your child’s first name; and the money entries, goals, and settings you create — amounts, notes, allowance preferences, and your timezone (so allowance pays on your Saturday). That’s the whole list.

What we don’t do. No advertising, no selling or sharing data with data brokers, no third-party analytics or tracking pixels. Cookies are used only to keep you signed in.

Children’s privacy. Munkie accounts are created and owned by parents. Children never provide information to us directly — the only child data we hold is the first name and money activity a parent chooses to record. We never contact children, and we collect no contact information about them.

Where your data lives. Data is stored with Supabase (Postgres, hosted in the United States), protected by row-level security so each family can only ever read its own records, and encrypted in transit. If you sign in with a social provider (Apple or Google), we receive only your email address from them.

Deleting your data.Email us and we’ll permanently delete your account, your family’s profiles, and every ledger entry. In-app account deletion is coming; until then, deletion by email is honored within 30 days.
